Kenny is running in this year’s Santa run and 50% of the funds he raises is for Cleft NZ. Thanks Kenny. Please support Kenny by sponsoring his initiative, or if you think this is a cool idea and gr8 way to help Cleft NZ, then maybe you want to do the Santa run too.
For all you need to know, go to Kenny’s Santa run website.
We love you Kenny

Cleft NZ’s AGM was on May 26th. Thanks to all those who ventured out on yet another rainy, cold night. Our Executive team has remained the same as last year, if a little reduced. Find out more about your Exec.
Sandy Cavell – Middlemore Cleft Team Psychologist Intern gave us a great presentation about health psychology and honouring our differences. Sandy discussed resilience and coping strategies and gave a really great overview of the psychological impacts to both individuals and their families of this difference. Sandy’s material, eloquent and understanding really made it easy for people to open up and the result was a great conversation. Facing It really opens up potential.
Some things we learnt:

Auckland Xmas Party – Sunday 20th November 10.30-2.30 Magician at 11 and Santa at 1pm! RSVP for catering purposes. Hope to see you there.
Operation Restore Hope is an international surgical charity made up of volunteers from around the world. Their volunteers donate their time and skills to provide surgical care for the
less fortunate children of the Philippines with cleft lip and palate deformities. Tristan de Chalain, a Plastic Surgeon formerly with the Auckland Cleft Team, works with Operation Restore Hope & is helping to organise a charity movie fundraiser. Details are as per the attached poster.
AMP Scholarships help extraordinary kiwis do great things. And we have one of our own applying for a scholarship to make his dream a reality. We have until the 17th July to get our votes in. Rhys has a little way to go to catch up with the leader on 2510 votes – but you can help us get there! It’s easy read how.
